Our History

A seed was planted on the morning of Saturday, June 27, 2009, as I weeded my mother's beloved flowerbeds while she was in the hospital recovering from chemotherapy treatments. You see, one of my mother's greatest passions was her flowerbeds, and I wanted so much to give them the same loving care she always did so to assure they looked as beautiful when she returned from the hospital as when she left home. As I weeded, I thought about how many other people there must be who love their flowers and need help tending them while they focus on surviving cancer. The seed was now growing, so when visiting my mother later in the day, I shared with her the idea about launching an enterprise that helps people maintain their flowerbeds when they are unable to. Mother grew a smile, immediately giving me the thumbs up, and she counseled, "Keep the price low . . . keep the Passion high." On that day, Passion for Mother's Flowers was born.

Memorial Garden

Shortly after launching Passion for Mother's Flowers, another seed was planted whereby we envisioned creating a special place to honor loved ones who have passed from cancer. From this spawned Hampden Township's Community Memorial Garden. Because during our first two years offering services, we discovered numerous non-profits within our community also providing our services, we evolved to solely maintaining this special community Memorial Garden.

The Memorial Garden is located at the south border of the Conodoguinet Youth Park off Orrs Bridge Road in Hampden Township. Seasonal park hours are 9 a.m. until dusk.

Use the order form below to order bricks that are added to the Memorial Walkway each spring.

Memorial Garden Dedication Ceremonies were held in 2010 and 2011. To view photographs and videos from these Ceremonies, please refer to the Dedications Ceremonies page.
